In This Corner...

It gives me great pleasure to tell you a little about my business. My primary goal is simple: To have satisfied customers that see me as a purveyor of the finest art and as a person worthy of their trust and friendship.

Let me share a few highlights with you:

• About one out of four paintings that I acquire are sold immediately to established customers.

•  “Buying right” is a critical step in any business. I have a number of steady suppliers that contact me on a regular basis offering one or more paintings. Also, I occasionally shop key auctions. I have suppliers across the US and Europe.

•  When I offer a painting for sale, I am as likely to consider replacement costs rather than what I paid for the painting.

•  “Presentation” is very important to me as it should be to you. I am a customer of Mark Kingsley, one of North Carolina’s best conservators. I also rely heavily upon a very able antique framer, Joe Lehn, who lives in Baltimore. Also I purchase hand carved frames from Stephen Motyka in Central Falls, R.I. Bob Coleman handles web matters. I have come to rely on these professionals as a “right hand” in my business.  If a painting doesn’t look right, it stays in my inventory!

•  Keeping costs low is an important goal. I do not have a gallery nor do I desire one.
In addition to this site I also sell paintings through Malleries.com. I exhibit at large antique shows including Baltimore, New York, Miami Beach, and Houston. Upcoming shows are identified in my "Notable News" page.

There is really no mystery in what I do. I believe that I have been blessed with good eyes and a capacity for hard work. If you have any questions, please ask!
