Jesus Fuertes

This painting by the hand of Jesus Fuertes (1938-2006), executed in the 1982, depicts a contemporary landscape clearly influenced by the relationship that Fuertes had briefly enjoyed with his fellow Spaniard, Juan Gris.  Clearly, Fuertes is emerging with his special take on cubism.  He is known as the “last student” of the Master Pablo Picasso. This painting is a small departure of his more cubist interpretation of what is known as Fuertes ladies. His work can be found in many important collections in Europe, America, and Latin America. His work is owned by the Royal Families of Monaco, Belgium, Spain, and the Dutch Royal Family and is on permanent display at the University Of La Sorbonne, France.  Closed corner, museum frame.
