This painting is a wonderful example of late-British impressionism by an increasingly important artist.  In producing this landscape, Robert Ossory Dunlop (1894-1973) crafted heavy brush strokes with deep and often rich colors to shape the forest from his mind’s eye.  This skill resulted in Dunlop’s ascension into Britain’s Royal Academy of Art.  Dunlop’s work will surely grow in value in future years.  Kinney Fine Art acquired this painting in 2005 from a private dealer in Europe.
