This is a superb farmyard painting by the Belgian artist, Eugene Remy Maes.  Every aspect ofthis painting is superb, the animals, the context, the use of color. Maes was a student at the Brussels Academy of Fine Art. He studied extensively animals in their environments and painted many scenes of animals in farmyard and stable settings. His paintings are very popular on both sides of the Atlantic.
